“Although the rooms are for children, I didn’t want them to be childish because children of all different age groups will be staying in them,” said Myerscough. “I also wanted to create somewhere parents would be happy to spend time too. It was just about making a bedroom that you felt good to be in.”

While the initial brief was to revamp each of the individual pharmacies; peak-time footfall distribution revealed that the areas would have to be quadrupled. Instead of designing nine properties, the brief evolved into developing a conveniently located central pharmacy.

The high- backed chairs and walls create an intimate and safe environment. For the windows, we designed a pattern with trees to avoid being overlooked. But we did make sure that daylight can enter, because daylight has a major impact on your mood. And off course we provide plenty of play elements so the children can be entertained.
