Since the offices are located in a building listed for conservation, whose renovation included the addition of new floors, it allows a natural and authentic dialogue between old and new that’s reflected in the interior design. For example, exposed old wall constructed from silicate blocks, alongside contemporary, unprocessed construction materials like exposed concrete blocks.

AKQA Casa by Estúdio Penha, São Paulo – Brazil

A patchwork of vintage iron gates and railings on the upper façade of the house form a brise-soleil filtering natural light and casting dynamic lace patterned shadows inside. The intricacy of this brise-soleil is a distinctive feature of the building.

Every detail is a pretext for comfort and collaborative interactions. The entrance creates a sense of warmth, welcome and excitement, the corridors guiding to the meeting rooms are fitted with waiting boxes for relaxation or discussions.

EMC Office by Symmetrics Development Services, Bangalore – India

The underlying objective was to keep the space as fluid as possible and transcend the no-barriers theme into the way EMC’s employees work. EMC has adopted flex workspaces that give employees the freedom to work from anywhere across the floor without being tied to a specific desk.

Cloud Room by Graham Baba Architects and Brian Paquette Interiors, Seattle – Washington

With over 5,000 square feet of space, Cloud Room houses a large, co-working area filled with rows of tables and chairs, as well as a lounge, a glass-fronted conference room, and phone rooms. Most co-working spaces are sparsely decorated, but Cloud Room is outfitted with all types of places to work, casual seating areas with sofas and chairs, a bar area, along with a west-facing terrace with a fire pit.

SASB Office by FENNIE+MEHL, San Francisco – California

FENNIE+MEHL was asked to make the new office communicate SASB’s commitment to sustainability and corporate transparency while fitting the work style of a staff intently focused on complex data analysis. The plan focused solely on finishes, furniture and visual artifacts.

Our task was not only to redesign and predefine their working space but to make it more flexible and integrate the new OCTOPUS concept – a space that combines working area, retail area for “smart” toys and limited edition tickets and invitations for events and a small coffee/bar area.

While the spaces are designed to reflect a fresh modern aesthetic, they also incorporate a timeless approach to design which strongly relates to the original architecture of the building as well as the changing marketplace.

Atlantic House office by Peter Schmidt Group, Hamburg – Germany

Atlantic House, in Hamburg’s St. Pauli district, has been a part of the new skyline between the Reeperbahn and Landungsbrücken since 2003 and now offers a spectacular view over the harbour from the conference level of its 19th floor, where almost 100 m² of lounge space is today waiting for spontaneous meetings and evening events to be etched into its memory.

Nanobit Office by Brigada, Zagreb – Croatia

Following Brigada’s recommendation, when designing the office we paid particular attention not only to work but also to socialization, relaxation, and fun. With a different design for individual zones, a different application and use was defined for each one, and the result is that employees have the feeling they are in an entirely different space, which makes it possible for them to really tune out and relax.

As the office is situated on the 19th floor, the idea was to create a sense of being amongst the clouds a moving cloud scape creating the illusion that the office is floating was designed. Custom made arm chairs, sofa, coffee table and bench make up the seating area, along with the custom made side tables and classic Oluce table lamps.

Natural green walls of live plants with an automatic watering system add brightness and harmony. The pattern of air was used on glasses in the open space of the “ground” part of the office—a light-colored pattern adds lightness and aeriality to the space.

It was important that the space was flexible, providing facilities for each member of the team as well as catering for the various events that take place there.

LinkedIn Office by Il Prisma, Munich – Germany

While the reception area represents the global values of the brand with a local touch through an immersive arrival experience, all spaces are organized around the “Landmarke” area, where the DACH nature inspires an iconic All Hands area. The central space leads to a breakout area where natural materials are integrated with modern appliances, and where an alpine-chic treehouse is dedicated to informal meetings.

Microsoft House office by DEGW, Milan – Italy

DEGW’s interior design followed Microsoft’s global guidelines in a project aimed at focusing on the very best of Italian manufacturing and design. The building has six floors above ground. The ground and first floors accommodate the Customer Area open to the public, showcasing the company’s products and connected by a custom-designed central stairway.

t the Reception, the brutalist proposal is printed on the metal shelf of rusted construction rebar, which added to the shelves and lacquered modules, with the colors of the Advertising Agency brand, give identity to those who arrive. The floor with epoxy paint emphasizes the minimalism proposed in the concept.
