GE Healthcare Office by Setter Architects, Haifa – Israel

We used natural materials and a palette of soft colors to showcase the rich textures, in a dialogue with MRI and CT images on a smaller scale. Our design was inspired by GE’s cutting-edge technology, with its options for seeing the human body’s tissues and layers from the outside.

The spiral shaped meeting rooms, with its warm lighting and light green carpet, make people stay in a very relaxed mood. The application of natural and rough materials, such as the exposed ceiling and the bright colors in some special spaces, which undoubtedly breaks the dull color scheme of the space.

Based on a Mediterranean feelings of holidays, which is swimming, the Lobby was conceptualized to mimic a swimming pool, in which visitors would be submerged under water. To create this illusion, a deep blue elevated pipe was designed to be hanging overheads, looping around the lobby defining different mini-areas within the lobby area.

Colour was used in carefully selected proportions to add energy and excitement to key collaboration areas without overwhelming the space. This extends to the client facing boardroom where one wall has been covered in tessellated blocks in shades of the corporate blue, arranged to resemble the pixels of a front-end software environment.

The architectural concept was born of an abstract deconstruction of the logo of the company, which was recently remodelled due to the current innovative will of the brand. The analysis of the logo emphasized both Cartesian, and organic approaches, evoking freedom and creativity.
