The heart of the office lies within a central hive area, where cafe and dining functions are housed. Blitz also designed the hive to accommodate multiple other functions, such as all-hands meetings and presentations. For this space the architects specified natural wood and warmer color temperature lighting, to give the hive an inviting, social feel.

We enhanced the layout with a row of rotating panels, dividing the space into two parts: the first introverted ‘chill out’ area can be completely isolated from the outer sunlight and environment, the second extroverted zone includes two meeting rooms and a bar with good coffee.

With the new office came the opportunity to implement a more flexible environment. NBBJ chose to provide staff with a variety of activity-based work spaces like collaboration bars, small and large meeting rooms, and unassigned hot zone seating in addition to their open-plan workstations. The variety of spaces allow for both individual work and quick collaborative efforts.

Office of architectural studio Nefa Research is situated in the building of former factory “Flakon” in Moscow and is formed by geometric multi-level construction. The idea of industrial office with unusual structured space was created by Nefa Research. Most of the furniture was made from architects’ sketches.

In the reception and meeting area, we made an extensive demolition: we created a two-story high ceiling, destroyed the floor and removed every plaster of the original walls, in a form of “architectural archaeology”. Inside this space with a demolished aspect, we created a pure, clean, white path leading the visitor to the two meeting rooms – entirely white blocks inside those ruins.

In close cooperation with the styling department of Rituals, M+R created a new phase of the corporate identity of Rituals by using wood and stone elements. The new head office of Rituals is located on two floors, for a better connection M+R designed and integrated an organic staircase of metal, steel and glass.
