For ‘Think’ Koudenburg & Elsinga created an inspirational garden, where one can wonder around and let thoughts flow freely. The space includes a library and a podium overlooking the Leidse Square. ‘Think’ is the place where ideas are invented and plans made, based on strategy, technology and connectivity.

The most important space of “Ping” is the meeting room which is located on the left part of the entrance hall. The form of this space is inspired by a “seed” shape in which all the ideas emerge and develop.

The office is divided into specific zones by the complex of the following inventive means: thin metal profile built-up constructions and inclined glass screens. It was possible to make corridors almost straight, and to separate some conference «cells» for 2-3 employees by using inclined oblique-angled designs.

The formal concept is inspired by the corporate image that the artist Joan Miró designed in the 80’s to the institution that sponsors these social programs.

We tried to create a friendly relationship with the user. The small vegetation organizes the access. Its materiality, temperature, resonance … even the opening speed of the automatic doors, make the user subtly feel that he has entered into an attenuated area.

Dubbeldam’s ‘Pop-up Office’ is a cubicle comprised of wooden modules made out of discarded shipping palettes that can be rearranged according to the user’s needs. The modules are broadly divided by the concepts ‘Focus’, ‘Collaborate’, ‘Lounge’ and ‘Refuel.’

The offices occupy three floors, including a recent roof-level extension. To ensure movement of people through the building, we cut a series of voids into the floor plate and dropped a slide and a floating staircase through the middle, offering either visual or physical connectivity throughout.

Large cut-outs in the ground floor’s ceiling break the barrier between upstairs and down, with a slim steel staircase joining the two levels. A spatial gradient organizes the plan from front to back – public gathering spaces at the front, dining and meeting spaces in the middle and more private offices and a meeting space/den to the rear.
