Aesop store by CASE-REAL, Sapporo – Japan

For the display shelves and other fixtures where function is needed we will use vibration finish stainless steel which incorporates with the grey color of soft stone well. We aimed to portray the man made artifacts co-existing with the harsh side of nature, also considering the entire store atmosphere a single saucer to catch all the products shown.

As a passionate admirer of Paulin’s work, the cosmetics brand’s internal architect Jean-Philippe Bonnefoi formed a relationship with the French Design Company, and this eventually led to creation of this space. Aesop Facial Appointments comprises of three rooms, all furnished with specially selected pieces designed by Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, and aims to offer soothing getaway from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Every detail counts, from the floor tiles, parquet flooring and plants to the large wooden table and sun-filled conservatory. The space is soft and joyous, calm and invigorating, singular and plural and colourful: a place where visitors can either whisper or speak out their minds and take in their surroundings by looking, feeling and touching the products.

Right in the middle of a very chic Parisian private hotel, visitors could discover the brand via a warm and playful mini-kitchen who presents ‘delightful cosmetics made from delicious food and enjoy the spirit of the Korean cosmetics brand.

Threads are droopily suspended across the back wall and front window of the store, mimicking the form of a hammock. Mexican studio Taller Tornel handcrafted the sink and cash desk from concrete, leaving a ribbed finish. Meanwhile, products are displayed on driftwood-like tables, as well as wall-mounted shelves.

Magasin du Nords Flagship store in Copenhagen has introduced a new fragrance concept – a lighter and cleaner scandinavian take on a fragrance shop. White tiles and wooden details create the base for the fragrance.

The interior features a palette of timber and white tiles, with neutral tones contrasting with bold graphics and the vibrant colours of Lush’s product range. Optelma’s linear LEDs and spotlights combine to create layers of light, forming a dynamic, energy-efficient environment.

The hub of the store is the Scent Discovery Bar, which was designed to invite and engage customers into the well-being experience, by enabling them to discover their main underlying wellbeing need – Sleep, Stress, Energy or Mood Boosting. Finished in a white-washed ply with copper framework, this elegant focal point encourages interaction and increases dwell time.

The focal point of the space is a centrally positioned stainless steel counter, also painted in a blue shade, and which functions as point-of-sale and is fitted with two demonstration sinks. Suspended above, and fixed with lamps, an architectonic network of interconnected pipes delivers water to the sinks. The new Aesop boutique carries the brand’s full range of skin, body, and hair care products.

Local design studio einszu33 soberly mixed materials and untamed textures to generate a simultaneous feeling of balance and tension: a rough concrete ceiling and screed floor find their counterpoint in polished, pale surfaces, brass floor inlays and fixtures, upholstered wooden cabinets and a textile wall in a blushing hue.

The design incorporates an eclectic mix of tactile materials including a reclaimed indian hand carved arch, rusted corten steel panels, concrete wall finishes, vintage brass mesh detailing and the iconic 4 metre long tree-trunk feature table made from a single sheet of sustainably sourced English chestnut to create a sophisticated, understated Eco-Luxe style.
