Molton Brown’s Christmas campaign by Conran Design Group

Molton Brown’s Christmas campaign is their most important of the year; sales during that period represent a sizeable proportion of the company’s profit. The campaign needs to work across the world, even in markets where Christmas is not traditionally celebrated. We were commissioned to create designs for an in-store brand campaign.

Christies Boutique is the first store of the Italian exclusive brand Christies Lingerie open in Poland. Its location is not at all random – placed in a renovated historic building in the heart of Krakow. This place is to stress the character of this brand and the design of the store itself. From the very beginning, its concept entailed a desire to create a friendly, comfortable and above all unique place.

Replay Store by Vertical Garden Design, Barcelona

Replay’s store on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona now hosts a vertical garden of just above 100m2. In the storefront location, the two storey wall is set in a dramatic and playful environment with waterfalls, sculptures and contrasting materials.

Uniqlo Megastore by Curiosity, Tokyo

Curiosity has completed the design of the Uniqlo Megastore that has opened near Shinjuku station in Tokyo. The new design is strongly influenced by the Tokyo urban landscape and the large entrance, marked with three display towers, recreates a mini-Shinjuku city.

2D/3D chairs for Issey Miyake by Yoichi Yamamoto Architects, Tokyo

Japanese firm Yoichi Yamamoto Architects has completed ‘2D/3D chairs’ for tokyo fashion labels Issey Miyake store. Featuring a series of traditional dining chairs, the installation transforms from a two dimensional graphic into a tangible piece. The perspective is manipulated creating a unique appearance from different vantage points for onlookers. Graphics of legs in varying perspectives are printed onto a horizontal plane while the chair backs rest upon the surface.

Nespresso: Coffee Capsuled “EGER” Karl Johan, Oslo, Norway (A.R.E Awards)

Thinking outside the box, Nespresso’s coffee capsules were combined with the fall fashion trends of 2010 in a display of prˆt-a-porter fashion. Taking the colorful capsules used to hold Nespresso’s product, about 4,000 capsules, and following the styling by well-known fashion designers that appear in the mall merchandise, designers turn their own cotton canvas into a fashionable gown and bowtie.

World Basketball Festival Display at NikeTown, New York

In promotion for this week’s inauguration of the first ever World Basketball Festival, Nike coordinated the momentous task in converting several key retail locations in New York City to the theme of the festival. This included NikeTown of New York, the flagship store of Nike. In keeping with original premise of the store as a faux basketball arena, Nike retail space designers re-imagined NikeTown to be an actual basketball arena.

A selection of students from JAK Akademie for Fashion Design in Hamburg, are in a visual merchandising contest. Students were asked to create 10 different window displays based on a theme they are given for that day. They are working with merchandising fixtures provided by ALU.

Levi’s Whirlpool Sculpture by Ian Mcchesney

Coinciding with the launch of the Levi’s® Water<Less jeans – made using significantly less water, this sculpture is based on water and fluidity – over 100 pairs of jeans are fixed together in the form of a giant whirlpool. The piece uses 120 pairs of jeans riveted together using over 1000 copper rivets.

Rolls by Sinato at Diesel Denim Gallery, Tokyo

As part of their ongoing series, Diesel Denim Gallery in Aoyama, Tokyo is currently presenting ‘Rolls’, an installation by Chikara Ohno from the japanese design studio Sinato. ‘Rolls’ consists of a single length of aluminum sheet thread throughout the space, forming large rolls on the ground at intervals.
