In the center of the space it has been at a kiosk for fresh produce such as salads, juices or fruit. The palette of materials used for the study includes natural stones for flooring, marble, oak wood, bricks and hydraulic tiles that help to create the informal atmosphere of urban markets.

The intense, all-encompassing perception fully reflects those characteristics Italy is renowned for. Both the form and the idea of a gateway leading into Casa Alitalia are reflected in the concept of a large doorway leading into an italian building, a passage that takes guest from the chaotic airport environment, into a calm, inviting, sophisticated space.
As always, the food is the most important part of a Jamie’s Italian restaurant, it was key to find exciting ways to display the food offers and entice travellers in. We created focal points within the three zones; the rustic grab-and-go counter in the bakery, the more refined antipasti bar in the restaurant, and nostalgia inspired ‘British pub carvery’ featured in the bar.
Ambience designers created unique custom features in the space incorporating elements of wellness and custom graphics. Features include a large scale LED lit map bordering the fireplace wall, an etched glass map showing Toronto landmarks and several new materials used to modernize the experience for hotel guests.
