Joints between light boxes that span across the ceilings follow the white steel beams. The signature chunky oak wood tables below are also oriented to echo these lines. Features include a large 6K video screen for product demos and entertainment, and cube seats that can be moved around during workshops and presentations.

Light boxes extend the length of the ceiling, similar to those found in Foster + Partner’s Apple Store in Hangzhou, China. Rows of the chunky tables made from sequoia wood present laptops, phones and tablets, while accessories are displayed inside a case that runs along the longest wall.

The 32-foot structural glass cube marking the store’s entrance makes a bold architectural statement. Housing a transparent glass elevator wrapped by a circular glass stair, the transparent cube beckons potential customers down to the retail level below.

Upon entering the store, shoppers encounter an expansive retail space with white marble flooring and a range of 250 apple products displayed on neatly arranged oak tables, and a 360-degree genius bar.

Large cut-outs in the ground floor’s ceiling break the barrier between upstairs and down, with a slim steel staircase joining the two levels. A spatial gradient organizes the plan from front to back – public gathering spaces at the front, dining and meeting spaces in the middle and more private offices and a meeting space/den to the rear.

It’s name “.life” (pronounced “dot-life”) plays on the ubiquitous “dot-com” intended to evoke an instant association with all things for digital lifestyles.
