The underlying objective was to keep the space as fluid as possible and transcend the no-barriers theme into the way EMC’s employees work. EMC has adopted flex workspaces that give employees the freedom to work from anywhere across the floor without being tied to a specific desk.

“Ruosh” in sanskrit means “passion”. It is this passion for what is good and the craft of making good shoes is what Ruosh stands for. Breaking codes of typical shoes display and creating a structured panorama of displays through simple geometrically proportioned units created a rythmic and harmonized design for the brand.
The space had movable privacy screens and mobile writing boards which could be moved around to achieve the desired level of privacy any group wanted. The dynamism of ‘Urban Grunge’ is achieved by high contrast in all elements of design be it material selection, workplaces, lighting, ceilings and the flooring.
The spatial layout majorly has a central core with all the closed spaces with the workstations enveloping the core in an L shaped profile, with the reading lounge and leadership area in the point of conjunction of the arms being an open office, the hierarchy is reflected in design elements. The ceiling and flooring changes rhythmically in the open office to demarcate the different spaces and hierarchy.
The idea behind the project was to give it a semi-informal design studio feel which allows for more discussion and interaction, yet have a corporate touch to it (since it is in an already existing campus). Hence, a lot of space is devoted to people and team interaction like a TV lounge, pantry, dining, discussion and other open spaces.
