At Yelp we placed a fully-equipped coffee shop on the 8th floor, a break room with window seating on the 5th, and semi-private pods for chess or chatting on the 11th. Each floor’s common areas thus become common to the company at large and not just to those whose workstations occupy that level.

COMET Ping Pong pizza restaurant, bar by Core Architecture, Washington, DC

Steel-framed tables and booths with reclaimed wood seats are fixed along the perimeter walls, with a 24-seat communal table placed through the central space. A grid filled with acrylic panels conceals the kitchen where the sculptural pizza oven anchors the end of the bar.

The site itself is devoid of any sunlight, openings, or views to the exterior. It could feel claustrophobic so we spun this by re-directing your attention inward and holding it captive through the various design elements. We addressed this first and foremost with a lighting strategy with different mood settings for lunchtime and evening diners.

La Nonna Cucina Bar by Esrawe Studio, Mexico City

The main hall inside La Nonna lies under a vault from which a 1,500 brassed metal spoon lamp is suspended. This lamp was manufactured specifically for this project. The chairs are built with oak, and its legs refer to traditional Italian rolling pins.

The design is black and white and the only colors in the space are the food colors. Main wall covered wood surface fluted waves combined hidden LED lighting with ceiling spotlights. The entire ceiling of the space is made of stretched fabric which allows reflective space.

Their names are pretty self-explanatory with the Silver Pack adding a stunning matte silver finish to the exterior. To contrast the exterior paint job, the wheel arches, front grille, headlights surrounds, bumper bar, wing mirrors, roof, fuel cap and wheels are all finished in black.
