Our primary objective was to design a restaurant with an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere that feels both contemporary and classic. This approach was born out of a close collaboration with the client, and in many ways arose from a set of furniture the client had previously purchased for the space.

The rear walls of the niches and the front side of the bar are covered with shell limestone flagging, creating a homogenous surface when viewed from the front. The shell limestone is subtly illuminated by halogen lighting.

Supermarket Concept Store by reMiks, Belgrade

Serbian design studio reMiks has completed Supermarket, a concept store inspired by the “golden years of communism”. Hosting a bar, restaurant, salon and fashion boutique, the store is located in a former discount supermarket in Belgrade. Found objects including a fridge, hospital screens and a camper van are used as display devices.

Dude Cigar Bar by Studiomake, Bangkok

Dude Cigar Bar is located on Sukhumvit Road, in the heart of Bangkok. The red bricks– a material request by the owner– were carefully rotated at different angles to allow people walking by the shop to peek into the space from the outside. The material vocabulary is comprised of teak, brick, and sand-finish powder-coated steel to keep the space texturally rich.

Divino Wine Bar by suto interior architects, Budapest

The cost efficient part of our main conception was “the interior design recycling”, redefining the existing surfaces, furniture and appliances: where the inherited beige coloured stone surfaces were painted black, the seats, being in good conditions, were refreshed with adding new back-rests with different height. The structure of the existing bar was used in the newly designed and reshaped one.

Numero bar was built on a very narrow and long strip of land in the Jardins area, in São Paulo. A walkway runs from the street through a hallway/tunnel fully covered in mirrors, leading to the main hall.

Delicatessen by nemaworkshop, New York

For the design of Delicatessen, nemaworkshop explored the concept of urban identity, namely the vibrant SoHo neighborhood and more specifically the NY newsstand. Typically overlooked because of its ubiquity, the newsstand serves as an atypical yet appropriate model. They are open, in-and-out thoroughfares which foster a unique breed of social energy.

ama design studio’s concept for Chan ‘pan-Asian’ restaurant and bar at ‘The Met’ hotel, Thessaloniki, Greece, is a lively fusion of modern aesthetic and traditional Asian motifs. The internal dining space is 230sqm and 150sqm for external dining in the hotels courtyard.

The client wanted to transform a staid, underutilized cavernous bar into a multifunctional flexible venue with a real focus on good food, live music and customer choice. Externally, faded warehouse style adverts entice people upstairs, reflecting the building’s historical purpose.

Fauchon food shop by Christian Biecher, Paris

Designed by architect/designer, Christian Biecher, the store has a bakery, a caviar bar, cafe and a wine tasting area called The Counter. With a mix of materials, including woods, metals for reflective high shine and some haute pink and polished finishes, Biecher has all the ingredients for any foodie’s gastronomic adventure.

This Press Club wine bar is located in Four Seasons hotel on Yerba Buena Lane, San Francisco. It is an urban tasting room and shop that has been created by BCV Architects. The bar interior materials are from woods with exposed structural elements. It creates warm atmosphere inside.
