EME Catedral Hotel by Juan Pedro Donaire & Sandra Tarruella & Isabel López, Sevilla – Spain

The ground floor of this building is the first outlet of craft sandwich brand, GRAIN BREAD AND BREW. The client is a drinkware maker, with many supporters from cafes and shops, both domestic and overseas. After traveling all over the world and being exposed to many different cultures, they wanted to express and share these experiences in the form of a sandwich as their new business.

American Plywood, originally used for wood construction, is a recurring motif. The walls in the area of the restaurant are covered with plywood boards, decorated with the work of some of Tel Aviv’s leading graffiti artists.

The overall concept comprises of 12 stylish bowling lanes, an indoor ice rink, two contemporary bars and the launch of a new F&B offering from famous pop-up restaurateur Jimmy Garcia.

Here you can recognize straight away the fusion between noble and industrial materials, classic and contemporary, always through an own vision that clearly represents the identity from Nozomi’s company. “The reinterpretation of the Kabukicho, Omoide Yokocho y Hajimeya alleys is done through a monochrome color scheme represented by grey and rusty finishes, as wall as a touch of wood that adds warmth to the overall concept”.

The long bar along the side ends up in a reception area. A separate dining room was shaped up with exclusive wallpaper design and lighting elements. Regarding the colours and tones dark flooring and light pastel were designed. The ceiling got an interesting pattern round with built-in LED solution.

We created a bright and open environment with the use of abundant natural wood, light colors and patterns that represent Italian traditions. Key features of the space are the open kitchen, where fresh food is prepared in front of the customer, and the bar on the other side. Guests can sit inside or outside at the bar.

The Basic intention of interior design was to create a space, free from “sports fans” stereotypes, a space open for all kind of sports enthusiasts. The space-identity is highlighted with elements such as Wardrobe Lockers which refer to locker rooms, and also with wall decorations composed of quotes and figure sketches of major athletes, illustrated with the stencil technique.
