Furnishing comprise of a variety of simple wooden shelving and displays, framed by polished concrete flooring and an exposed ceiling dipped in a dark grey hue and dotted with a multitude of spotlights.

The original infrastructure includes in-slab electrical and HVAC systems as well as limited ceiling heights, 8’-3” to the bottom of the structure, challenging the team to be creative and work in tandem with the MEPFP engineers. The design team worked to highlight Northeastern’s energy and commitment to experiential learning through materiality, transparency, and collaboration.
Both natural light and lighting solutions were utilized to adjust the feel of the space, and reclaimed barn wood added warmth to the office. These subtle yet significant details not only created a space for T3 that is contemporary and bold, even industrial and forward thinking, but also conveyed T3’s vibrant and diverse nature.
NELSON developed multiple scenarios to accomodate Pearson’s evolving real estate strategies, which coincide with lease terminations and consolidations within their multi-building Boston campus. The ultimate goal was to reduce square footage per person to a range of 150 to 175 SF, which was accomplished.
A bicycle boutique with a focus on fixed gear & urban riding, Superb is a full service shop offering repairs and sales in an environment designed to stylize the act of bicycle shopping. Expanding on the shop’s original 1900′s motif, the retail store is a marriage of Victorian esthetic and minimalist design further commenting on the bicycles dual nature of being both tradition and trend.
