t the Reception, the brutalist proposal is printed on the metal shelf of rusted construction rebar, which added to the shelves and lacquered modules, with the colors of the Advertising Agency brand, give identity to those who arrive. The floor with epoxy paint emphasizes the minimalism proposed in the concept.

The entrance hall with its high ceiling and sculptural steel staircase does the transition between these two focal points. It is in this large room that wood is introduced as another element of strong symbolism and its use throughout the spaces creates a sense of internal continuity.

The reception already exposes the palette of colors of the brand, the predominant white with details in red, the use of the gray in coverings to demarcate and to counter pose the effect of the white color, as we work with lighting effects, such as those hanging at that reception, which arrangement already refers to the traces of the brand, being placed at 45 degrees.

Following the opening of its first store at Cidade Jardim mall in São Paulo four years ago, revived Italian fashion house Valentino has opened a second boutique at Jk Iguatemi, a rivalling luxury mall situated only a stone’s throw away across the Pinheiros river.

Strong colors, lights contrasts and graphism created a dramatic and dynamic architecture. There is a big box, in the middle of the room, painted with yellow and black stripes indicating a danger zone, where inside of it there is a quiet (or loud!) teenager bedroom, with all the magazines that Bob Gruen`s photos appeared printed and plastered on the walls.

The special furniture and decoration should give the concept a different and cool style, showing what the brand personality is and making the office unique. The project was lead by the plan, where four different rooms should be distributed in order to facilitate the flow: the reception, which also works as a small kitchen; the meeting room; the working room; and the executive’s room.

Every detail counts, from the floor tiles, parquet flooring and plants to the large wooden table and sun-filled conservatory. The space is soft and joyous, calm and invigorating, singular and plural and colourful: a place where visitors can either whisper or speak out their minds and take in their surroundings by looking, feeling and touching the products.

In the purest French spirit, the agency designed a beautiful apartment-boutique in the haussmanian style, reminiscent of the chicest Parisian homes. The boutique includes herringbone parquet flooring, a freestanding bathtub, chic furniture and even a kitchen equipped with the most delicate aromas.

The office is located at the first floor of the office, in a very cool environment with the walls covered with geometric graphics. As you enter the space, your attention is caught by a large wood panel, which covers the back wall and the ceiling. The vertical orientation of the pine slats becomes horizontal to form the logo of the company.

With a floor plan of just 20 meters squared, the studio has wrapped the interior of the shop with an envelope of ‘tubes’ that appear tonally similar from afar, but upon closer inspection prove to be texturally individual.

Loja do AquaRio gift shop by Kube Arquitetura, Rio de Janeiro – Brazil

For this project, Kube was inspired by the only information they had: a humpback whale’s skeleton is hang in Aquarium’s entrance hall and its best view is from inside the store. That being said, the store’s main displays were inspired by the organic curves of the whale’s ribs, giving the space a flowing and light movement, and also allowing a flexibility in the mix of products.

Philippe Starck dedicated over seven years to this project where he has visited Brazil several times in order to develop a deep knowledge of its culture, materials, shapes, craftsmen and suppliers. This was a necessary step for the creative director of the project.
