By removing the cladding from the columns, their size was significantly reduced and the decision to leave the columns as built, even with builders’ pencilled notes, provides an authentic level of ‘found’ detail.

The eye-catching and unique shopfront design embodies the essence of the scheme. The shopfront is owned by a photographic illustration of a Georgian house, which represents the ‘House of Oasis’ concept.

We drew inspiration from geometry and clean lines. We also looked at using objects like cable trays and steel mesh as exposed accents to contrast the soft furnishings. We used the lighting as another tool to create contrast and visual excitement. The space is meant to be a visual feast for the eyes, as we believe the purpose of design is to create exciting spaces that people enjoy being in.
