Aiming to be a part of the residents daily life, the design objective was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. While the use of natural materials like wood and stone emphasized the feeling of outdoors, the choice of copper and carrara marble in the atelier sections created a less industrial cooking space for workshop participants.
Situated in Istanbul’s Galata district, a common ground for art galleries and specialized shops, Turkey’s respected fashion designer Arzu Kaprol displays her collections in a recently renovated historical building recognized as “Kamondo Inn‘. For the store’s transformation, Autoban conserved the original brick arch structure and designed everything around it.
Milwaukee/Chicago-based designer, Rocco Laudizio of Slick+Design USA, and real estate/nightclub-restaurateur, Thomas Wackman, hook Milwaukee’s attention with new vanguard concept. A smart, enticing bend to fare and cocktails, Dick’s Pizza & Pleasure pushes artisan style pizza, house made milkshakes and nightlife a step far beyond.
This shop is part of a chain of family-run bakeries called ‘Elektra’ located in Edessa, Greece. Studioprototype had the opportunity to redefine the look of its shops with this pilot project. The shop is small covering only thirty-five square metres and occupies a strategic corner plot on the main pedestrian high street.
