According to the side you are looking at, the pavilion outer surfaces appear as a continuum of vertical lines with a different chromatic identity. Red and purple if you look to one direction, red and grey if you look to the other.

The exteriors of the show-room are made of a continuous three-sided coated perimeter, raised above the platform, in which marmi, pietre and resine are interchanged. The wall system is used to create a higher belt line to filter the natural light and lighten the overall composition of the matters on display.

Inside the space of the pavilion is divided and organized through an alternate play of solid walls and hexagonal macro shaped semi transparent vertical partitions to achieve a perfect framing of the main groups of products and in order to optimize the functional use of all the available space without sacrificing its strong decorative appeal.

The containers have been stacked up along the perimetre of the space, in an apparently chaotic way, in order to create a path of in-depth analysis of the materials and to provide, at the same time, a unique central space at the visitors’ disposal.

The booth area, designed by the architect Marco Porpora, is meant in fact as an ideal building yard with an open and modular structure, that houses Ariostea’s floor and wall coverings from its traditional sizes to the big ones, going through the innovative slabs and ending into the very large formats with the ULTRA project.
