The dark space was illuminated by a range of table, floor and pendent lamps from the collection and a small number of spotlights mounted on rigs that criss-crossed the beams in the former industrial space.

The idea of this fun and bright fairytale boutique developed through the concept of flower-themed colorful handmade accessories of our client ROSA. We had to transform a small and dark space into a light and positive boutique.

Shoebaloo shoe store by MVSA, Rotterdam

The success of the Amsterdam shop led to a second commission for a new store in Rotterdam. Here the shop window is covered with pale green foil in which holes have been cut. Behind the holes are white leather coffers, each displaying a single shoe, spotlit like a precious jewel.

The idea was to capture transparency and light in a rather dark space with limited natural light. The design is futuristic with a color palette in subtle, natural colors juxtaposed with harsh fluorescent lighting. Glass surfaces, light panels and walls are covered by illustrations and typography that capture fictional environments and people in motion.
