Inspired by Kingston’s rich aviation heritage, the overall design scheme holds a warm and contemporary aesthetic, with subtle touches of aircraft paraphernalia. The hotel lobby is designed to be a welcoming and social space, with a blend of relaxed seating and tables suitable for groups, alone travellers and casual business meetings.

Red Dog restaurant by designLSM, Nottingham – UK

The main restaurant area is adorned with aged leather banquettes, geometric flooring and a striking ceiling feature constructed out of decorative tin tiles. Our designers retained some existing features from other Red Dog sites including reclaimed pine panels and wall displays of early 19th American century portraits paying homage to the brand’s signature design details.

DesignLSM were commissioned to redesign the interior and brand identity for Queens, helping them to create an all-inclusive leisure destination for families, friends and city workers. The overall concept comprises of 12 stylish bowling lanes, an indoor ice rink, two contemporary bars and the launch of a new F&B offering from famous pop-up restaurateur Jimmy Garcia.

We created a sophisticated dining room that envelopes the entire rear of the pub, alongside housing a modern kitchen and back of house facilities in the central hub, perfectly positioned to service both the bar and dining rooms situated on opposite sides of the building.

To enhance the space, we stripped back the stores original shell, replacing the curved walls with flat units and introduced an array of new features and finishes that included bespoke concrete wall fixtures and light timber flooring.

The assembled look of the furniture, reclaimed wood flooring and corrugated iron panels create an urban aesthetic. Playful finishes such as cement tables brandished with bird footprints, neon signage and birdhouse lighting injects the space with a youthful twist.

Our solution takes influence from medieval banqueting halls and the restaurant features six massive tables, each one a thick slab of oak measuring 6 metres in length. Long benches run the length of each table.
