The interior space is an overall “L” shape space. Coffee, craft beer and bakery zones take places separately in the three corners of the “L”. Coffee and craft beer zone have white ceilings and floors and the bakery zone is a space with black covered all surfaces. The black and white spaces is divided by the curvy ceiling edge and steel wire.

In this project, the main concept is to add a steel mezzanine to maximize the usable space in the building. During the process of design, in order to minimize the effect of the mezzanine on the original ground floor, the architect chooses to suspend the whole steel structure.

The center of the interior is made of three existing concrete columns that wrapped with copper-coated stainless steel and terrazzo. Functionally, the coffee zones are divided into these three main parts.

The store was turned into a refreshing space with soft green color filled all around. Hiding in the historic neighborhood, the designer hopes that it could give a surprise to the people passing by. They could stop and relax for a cup of fresh juice, and then go back to daily life.

Inspired by Origami, the irregularly folded stainless steel sheets are the main elements of the shop-front facade, the beer wall and the bar counter. Laser-cutting circles grow large from bottom up to the top on the one side of the sheets, lights leaking out of the circles cast spots and reflection on the other side.
