Dalston Roof Park, London – UK

The concept, devised by lighting designers Michael Grubb Studio, was “Sunset, all night long”. This was achieved through the use of white light and a limited range of yellow, amber and red filters, which allowed the design to mimic sunset, creating an environment where visitors could experience the subtlety of colour.

Upon entering the ground floor shoppers stumble upon a newly installed Comme des Garçons installation in the event space which presents five key pieces from its A/W 2016 women’s collection.

The pavilion lighting is programmed over twenty minute cycles, that begins with all lights on and then sees them cross fading from east to west over three minutes, followed by a pause of two minutes in darkness (full eclipse) and then a slow east to west cross fade back up to full brightness.

A corridor leads to two voluminous spaces, covered by an expansive glass roof which allows in floods of daylight. The interior design is simple and functional, featuring pristine white walls and timber flooring and shelving.

A versatile space for this international advertising agency’s entertainment area in the iconic Atlantis Building on Brick Lane. Our scheme had to include breakout areas for clients, a refectory, a night and day bar and private meeting spaces. All this had to be removable to open the space up for conferences and events including the now infamous annual LBi Rave!
