When designing the stand, we wanted to reflect that “British made” intense flavour which is not usually used as a quality, but that for us represented an enormous value for Innermost. In order to represent such a heterogeneous character, always in the search for new expression opportunities, we were inspired by two cultural hints that could not be more antagonistic.

We built up the interior as natural continuation of the architecture. By functional design we separated the area into two zones: the front zone was incorporated into the exterior creating public space and feeling of console silhouette of the building; the rear zone was separated through floor and roof design that allowed reducing depth of space while keeping the panorama.

Located at a residential area in Japan is a small shop which sells antiques. “Antiques” are objects which are, different from manufactured products, becoming increasingly charming together with the passing of time. Furthermore, it is also dependant on the location and era of collection that the objects possess their own individuality. The characteristic of this shop is that there is only one of each item, honouring their individuality.

Camper Store by Tokujin Yoshioka, London – UK

A new store for shoe brand Camper designed by Tokujin Yoshioka will open in Regent Street, London later this month. The store will feature a wall covered in folded artificial red suede, a development of an installation Yoshioka created for Italian funiture brand Moroso in New York in 2007, which used folded tissue. The chairs shown here, which also use the tissue technique, are Yoshioka’s Bouquet chair for Moroso.
