By taking the existing architecture as a canvas, the installation – set in place to promote the brand’s MoMA-inspired SuperGeometric collection – makes an omnipresent impact on the space’s appearance and visual merchandising.

Joints between light boxes that span across the ceilings follow the white steel beams. The signature chunky oak wood tables below are also oriented to echo these lines. Features include a large 6K video screen for product demos and entertainment, and cube seats that can be moved around during workshops and presentations.
Marimekko, the Finnish fashion and lifestyle brand, recently established its own flagship store in the former at 200 Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan. STUDIOS completed renovations at 200 Fifth in 2010 and acted as Architect of Record to Japanese architectural firm IMA, in cooperation with Marimekko’s internal design team.

Fashion Week has begun, and our Fifth Avenue windows are host to a colorful explosion of multihued excitement. Featuring installations by New York artist Jason Hackenwerth, our windows glow with an eerie alien presence that complement bold Ready-to-Wear pieces that drift between chic Bohemia and a prismatic universe inspired by Spring’s tribute to Yves Saint Laurent’s dramatic colorways.
For two weeks in March, Mancy’s becomes „ the largest garden in existence” with the Brodway windows and the entire street level of the store transformed.
