This inspired the design of the Ariki brand and packaging as a bold juxtaposition of ‘the old and the new’. These include Polynesian patterns and delicate illustrations with elegant type, rich paper textures, subtle embossing and fine foils.

The oil tanks are aligned under the cooking counter to mimic the street scene of Bing carts. The Red-white-blue patterns are integrated into mosaic tiles that are custom-made to suit the counter cladding.

Our branding proposal takes inspiration in the traditional Talavera crafts from Puebla. Seis Chiles is a brand that keeps simplicity and neatness at the same time. The navy blue is inspired in the talavera that can be appreciated in all the branding and packaging.

Xococava (pronounced shoco-cava), an extension of its big brother restaurant, Cava, is whimsical hybrid of a stand-up tapas bar crossed with an ice-cream parlour. Inspired by Spanish and Mexican cultures of chocolate and Italy’s love affair with gelato, Xococava features artisanal ice cream and hand-made chocolate.

Buttercup Cake Shop sits at the entrance to the ‘Great Eastern Market,’ within Westfield’s newly opened UK shopping mall at Stratford. Designed as an oversized Shaker kitchen, the space features embellished elements of the traditional handbuilt kitchen, drawing inspiration from honest, utilitarian, British joinery.
