Kashish (Ethnic wear) store by Studio SKM Designs, Hyderabad – India

We created customized art panels using the sketches drawn of various traditional motifs and vintage styled pictures of the famous monuments of Hyderabad, the mother city of the brand ‘Kashish’.

By having now one level store, we could design a pharmacy open to the consumer, with a façade that can be seen from across the street. On the same direction we positioned the signing, simple and clear it gives it’s stigma to the pharmacy and makes its presence felt on the local market.

The suspended metal frames have been designed to give dynamism and character to the space with asymmetric elements and overlapping lines at different heights and thicknesses. The smoked glass shelves give a touch of class and transparency to the structures.

The designers than decided to leave them by their nature, leading to a decision to use throughout all the design, unusual materials from the industry area to enhance the connection to the outside street. Special concrete tiles were chosen for the floor, concrete plates covered the counters, and black marble was installed on top.

Glasses are presented in a rustic and yet modern setup in front of a natural brick wall: casually, on “smoked” glass shelves installed between room-high brass rods that almost seem to float. Below them, there is a black MDF sideboard with practical drawers.

With the store all black and white and with glass windows from ceiling to floor, having all shoes lid up by beautiful LED’s and displayed on glass shelves makes the shoppers feel like they are in sneaker-heaven surrounded by sporty treasures.

The interior settings are sleek and modern with subtle mid-century touches, and have been designed by Milan-based practice Storage Associati. Glass shelves with black outline are paired with panels of precious black Okoumé wood, and plenty of satin brass elements.
