The packaging had to be as eco-friendly as possible. The biggest challenge was to design the packaging that’s easy to assemble but without any glue and plastic, which at the same time serves as a fun giftwrap and a practical protection of the product. Also we had to find a recycled paper that’s good enough in terms of quality and durability, and the colors with eco-certificates.

We as a consuming species are creating an enormous amount of waste in all types of production processes. ‘Bits of Wood’ is a reaction on handling these leftovers. Pieces of wood in this case; leftovers from the sawmill. All the different pieces are modified to fit in a mold where molten tin embraces them and holds them together.

Wonderwall Studios uses natural materials, real and authentic. The wall is constructed using separate tiles. These tiles are shaped in a way that, after mounting, no connection lines will be visible. Wonderall Studios designs can be used for multiple purposes, wall panelling, furniture design, ceilings etc. Naturally the wooden wall is great for acoustics. Current collection consists of three designs: Brooklyn, Parker and Wheels.

More books are printed every year, read and discarded. Even though many are taken to charity shops, they mostly go unsold and the charities have to pay for the books to be sent to landfill. For example 10,000 books a week from one charity will go to waste. There is currently no infrastructure set up to recycle the paper from books because the paper is low grade and the glue on the spine must be removed.
