Curves dominate the store, from a curled feature wall behind the cashier’s desk, effectively lit from behind, to fitting rooms which are enveloped in the round by layered, curvy walls that reference the overlapping petals of a flower bud, again highlighted by slithers of light from beneath.

The interior is inspired by the functional aesthetic of american high school stadiums, and as such it features a tunnel entrance, stands for live-game viewing on big screens, locker rooms instead of dressing rooms, and track and field areas where avid shoppers can test and experience products. To signal the brand’s embrace of environmental principles, sustainability is very much at the core of the design.
The fashion collections are displayed on frosted black hangers that are supported by product carriers made from brushed brass. The floor’s black oak planks create a harsh contrast to the room’s colour concept of sage dove. The sophisticated black is found again on socket outlets and the room-high doors as piano lacquer.
From “home touch” Collection left side, where we can find Tom Dixon appliques according to champagne shiny gold freestanding hangers, through Jeans Collection on the right side, characterized by brushed champagne gold wall cladding, to the final accessories room with fabric wallpapper and long smooth shelves.
Inspired by the large wooden crates used in the shipping industry, the design for Zalando’s Pop-Up Store features three free-standing boxes, each revealing a seperate collection. The boxes are placed at angles to the concrete walls, guiding the visitor through the space as they discover the assorted rooms of the furniture.
