T3 decided to used second-hand bricks for the whole project, to get the “historical” touch in terms of design, then, to make the project as green as possible by recycling existing materials sourced directly in Saigon. To avoid overloading on structure, we cut in 2 pieces a part of the bricks to use it as wall finish for interior design.

The combination of simple and raw finishing materials such as concrete, timber, patterned glass, bamboo pendants… sent the restaurant back to the time of 1950s in Saigon and recalled the values of Asian textures.

For the material system, we decided to use natural wash furniture and emulsified paint to create textures. Key colors are gray-black and white-wash wood. All are combined with black painted iron piped legs.

This was the project to open the Japanese ramen noodle restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. We considered it was a key to make our customers feel ‘Japan’ since we were bringing a real ramen noodle restaurant from Japan.

The pendant lights made of wire inspired by Tonkotsu ramen noodle.(It is called Harigane(wire) because of its hardness), Spray with white on the wall which expressed the pork soup, etc. Set with Ramen itself as motif through the restaurant, and yet I aimed to design innovative Ramen restaurant and a space where people can feel comfortable.

Main compositions of the space are arched ceiling and wall becoming a part, cladding in marbles, the purple floor which is the symbol color of this restaurant, the bar counter with crashed tiles.
