With the store all black and white and with glass windows from ceiling to floor, having all shoes lid up by beautiful LED’s and displayed on glass shelves makes the shoppers feel like they are in sneaker-heaven surrounded by sporty treasures.

The high- backed chairs and walls create an intimate and safe environment. For the windows, we designed a pattern with trees to avoid being overlooked. But we did make sure that daylight can enter, because daylight has a major impact on your mood. And off course we provide plenty of play elements so the children can be entertained.

The public spaces have additionally been given a Dutch touch in the form of artwork. In collaboration with a graphic designer we used images from the Rijksmuseum and gave them a modern feel. By enlarging, cropping or distorting images and projecting these on walls and carpets, we’ve created surprising design elements.

Small gestures evoke associations with Japanese culture, such as lamps based on the art of origami, thus pointing ever so lightly to the Japanese origin of the brand ASICS. Central in the building is the atrium, filled with daylight.

TNT’s CO2 neutral express office by OVG, Hoofddorp – Netherlands

TNT came to OVG with a clear mission: they wanted to be the first CO2 neutral express and mail company in the world. The new head office is to be first move in this direction. Making no sacrifices in quality for workspace and modern design and, above all, for the same budget as a ‘normal’ office building.
