Mikkeller & Friends Bar by Rum4 and Studio-K, Copenhagen

The design duo used untreated plywood to build a natural, inventive universe. The bar is located in a cellar and yet has been instilled with a light and airy atmosphere thanks to the uncoated wood and the use of a singular colour – a fresh turquoise that spreads across the floors and selected furnishings.

On entering, the interior typifies a male domain which embraces a contemporary take on old world elegance which offers a high degree of comfort for its discerning clientele. Comfortable leather chairs greet the customer and a choice of high-end products for male grooming are displayed against a brown faceted wall.

Maisontrois exhibition stand by Nicolas Dorval-Bory Architect, Paris

Men’s prêt-à-porter brand “maisontrois” asked us to create a very simple exhibition stand for hippest professional fashion show “Tranoï” in Paris. With almost no budget and a tiny surface which precise dimensions couldn’t be known until D-day, the brand wanted us to imagine a visually strong and nonetheless functional showcase for their clothes.

In 2004, Liz Claiborne, the owners of the Sigrid Olsen brand, engaged Pompei A.D. to give the store’s Tampa, Florida location a new look and feel.

Alkalai Shop and Wine Bar by Shahar Katsav, Tel Aviv

Wine shop, which provides pouring services and small dishes appropriate for wine. An intimate space in a cellar-style atmosphere, which is partially disconnected from the Tel Aviv streets. In planning the space, a long-time problem was addressed: horizontal storage of the wine bottles, as is required, whilst still ensuring a clear view of the bottle’s label.

Carhartt store by Francesc Rifé, Barcelona

This Barcelona urban-wear shop is located in L’illa – the city’s first truly modern shopping mall – and makes a bold statement with little space and an even smaller palette of materials.
In just 42 sq m, the shop has a sophisticated feel thanks to the oak panelling, screens and display elements. Local designer Francesc Rifé’s planning results in a warm atmosphere and intimate space that’s minimal yet cohesive.
