Adidas Stan Smith sneakers with Kvadrat fabric

Adidas has partnered with Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat to release an edition of its iconic Stan Smith sneakers covered in dotted fabric. The collection comes in blue, grey and red versions. Each design is patterned with Kvadrat’s Squares fabric by Danish designer Vibeke Rohland, which features textured circles in contrasting shades.

The concept was fabricated to recreate the scene of a picnic in an enchanted forest atmosphere, the careful layering of the bands informed by weeping willow trees, forming an intimate, sanctuary-like space within the expansive exhibition hall.

Philips just teamed up Kvadrat Soft Cells to unveil a brilliant new breed of luminous wallpaper that could forever change the field of mood lighting. The beautiful textile combines sound-absorbing properties with LED lights to cast a colorful low-energy glow over any interior space.

The Dwelling Lab by BMW and Kvadrat

Together with Giulio Ridolfi the Milan based designer Patricia Urquiola was assigned to create a conceptual installation for the Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat and the German carmaker BMW. The result of this fruitful collaboration are these huge cone-like structures that seem to be growing out of the car’s body.

North Tiles by Kvadrat

Originally conceived for our Stockholm showroom by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, these textile walls are constructed with individual foam fabric tiles which connect together using an ingenious folding system. The North Tiles system showcase the multiple textures and materials from Kvadrat’s collection. It allows for a great deal of flexibility with an infinite degree of permutations. Moreover, the simple assembly allows the walls to be easily reconfigured.

One of Peter Saville’s recent projects with perhaps less cult appeal than his seminal record covers, but definitely no less verve for anyone with an eye for design, is his consultancy for Danish textile giants Kvadrat. Over the last five years he’s tweaked the graphic identity of the family-run company, gently and always appropriately updating the brand for a new generation of fabric fanatics.
