A patchwork of blue and green materials covers the exterior, while red and orange tones are used inside. The interior also features rounded seats and small tables, upholstered in Kvadrat textiles. A bicycle dressed in a yellow cover is parked by the door.

Together with Giulio Ridolfi the Milan based designer Patricia Urquiola was assigned to create a conceptual installation for the Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat and the German carmaker BMW. The result of this fruitful collaboration are these huge cone-like structures that seem to be growing out of the car’s body.
Originally conceived for our Stockholm showroom by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, these textile walls are constructed with individual foam fabric tiles which connect together using an ingenious folding system. The North Tiles system showcase the multiple textures and materials from Kvadrat’s collection. It allows for a great deal of flexibility with an infinite degree of permutations. Moreover, the simple assembly allows the walls to be easily reconfigured.
