The hub of the store is the Scent Discovery Bar, which was designed to invite and engage customers into the well-being experience, by enabling them to discover their main underlying wellbeing need – Sleep, Stress, Energy or Mood Boosting. Finished in a white-washed ply with copper framework, this elegant focal point encourages interaction and increases dwell time.

The materiality of the building draws on the history of terracotta façades in Leeds, often produced by the local Burmantoffs Terracotta works, providing a modern interpretation of a traditional material.

Aspinal of London flagship store by Caulder Moore, Leeds – UK

It is seamlessly intermingled with bespoke antique furniture and wood panelling, creating a sense of theatre. Together they represent the quintessentially Aspinal home. The new store takes inspiration from the flagship Aspinal Brook Street store, brought into a modern, contemporary context.

Sky Offices by BDG architecture + design, Leeds – UK

BDG used the natural layout of the space to inform the planning where possible, taking the brief into account and providing open plan space, quiet zones, interaction zones and specialist facilities, including a small TV studio for one-to-one broadcasting.

Snow + Rock stores by Caulder Moore, Leeds & Bristol – UK

A series of interactive zones and brand walls were created to give the environment pace. Custom made furniture and fixtures allow more flexibility for ‘staff picks’ areas and specialist racks for items like ski boots, running shoes and bikes.

1871 Bar & Restaurant by designLSM, Leeds – UK

The 1871 Bar is industrial chic and references the main hotel colour scheme and Grill Restaurant beyond. designLSM created a raw space that would appeal to a diverse clientele. This was achieved through the use of stripped back concrete columns, surface mounted conduit lighting, brick walls and applying a palette of warm worn browns, tans and reds.

The latest incarnation of Next’s evolving concept can be seen in the high profile, recently refurbished and expanded Trinity Centre in Leeds. The 3,200 sqm store features new concepts for men’s
and childrenswear, as well as an updated women’s and home concept – all developed by Dalziel and Pow in conjunction with the in-house team at Next.

Reis Design were briefed to create an urban centre of excellence for hair styling, Ayurvedic beauty therapies and Aveda retail products.
