HALO lamps by Quentin de Coster

Developed as a limited edition, the geometric and translucent design of the piece is directly influenced by the standard light bulb. For this project, one characteristic approach that de Coster has adopted alongside Genard is to expose the usually hidden parts of most lamp.

Freshco, The Health cafe by The Crossboundaries, Vadodara – India

5 small black glossy top tables were placed in the cafe with a combination of Black and colored fabric chairs arranged in a way to neutralize the colors. Well balanced selection of chairs were important so that the table and chairs does not become too dominant part of design.

Felucca© is a simple lampshade made from non-woven flame-proof Nomex fabric and snap fasteners, to be mounted directly onto a suspended light bulb. It can then be shaped gently by hand, and several Feluccas can also be assembled to create a larger lampshade.

I’m using both black tinted incandescent bulbs and black light bulbs that can be used for different moods. The black tinted incandescent bulb emits a natural ambient light. The black light bulb emits an ultraviolet radiation which is invisible to the human eye. By having the shape around the bulb fluorescent, the observable light will be the actual glow of the structure.

Icaro from Modoluce

Table or swinging lamp composed by many sunburst steel wires of wing’s shape, welded in the center. His name, Icaro, is a clear reference to the daredevil that challenge to the nature with his wings made of feathers and wax: the lamp Icaro, is in fact light and heavy in the same time, the steel wires seem a kind of cage from which the light filters in a neat and easy way.

Studio Knoend has designed the unique lamp with eco-friendly fixture. When assembled, the lamp has the shade for the light bulb which is the packaging itself. In this package, including the fixture is a one-step, ready-to-use solution, which includes a standard electric cord; a 7w energy efficient CFL bulb and hemp twine for assembly. The lamp has 10? x 11? x 10? measurement which can be put as a pendant or table lamp.
