Hugo Boss socks packaging by Sabotage PKG

London-based Sabotage PKG has created the packaging for the latest addition to the Hugo Boss Orange range, the Fit Plus Liner fashion sock. This collection is considered as a fashion rather than a sports accessory and the packaging design is aimed at showing the consumer the sock is engineered to stay fitted to the foot rather than slip into the shoe.

Louis Vuitton Store by Peter Marino, London Bond Street

It has been the talk of the town all week, so you can imagine how excited the Publisher and I were when we got our invites to a sneak peak of the new Peter Marino designed Louis Vuitton maison on Bond Street. The new 1,500 sq m premises, compromises of the old LV and old Donna Karan store on bond street, which all makes the new maison the largest brand store in London, as well as the most expensive (£30 million).

‘light travel through winter twigs’ Recalling an impression of winter forest, when the low sun reaches ground through layers of tree branches. Pattern cut and rolled artificial paper layers cast shadows of its own, and shadow of the shade is projected on the ceiling and walls. t.n.a. design studio is a multi cultural design team based in East London, led by Tomoko Azumi.

Harvey Nics: Brights on the Pipeline

The new Harvey Nics scheme is all about the brights. It consists of multi-coloured pipeline structures with various treatments attached to them such as fringing and coloured tubes. The background has been left looking unfinished and rough with visible roller strokes. As a contrast they have opted for 80′s style mannequins with confident poses 80′s fashions to match.

Bright, block colour is a major fashion trend this summer. Retailers are utilising on this trend to grab our attention. The stores have not just presenting their bright fashion in the windows, it’s in the window schemes themselves. Bright stock against bright background but also combined with white. Although this trend is mostly about mixing different block coloured together – I have thrown in some bright print windows as well.

Originally standard-issue for the working man, Dr. Martens became the counterculture boot of choice. Clearly articulating that transformation is the brand’s London pop-up shop, which materialized for a six-month run at Old Spitalfields Market.

Camper Store by Tokujin Yoshioka, London – UK

March 25th, 2011

A new store for shoe brand Camper designed by Tokujin Yoshioka will open in Regent Street, London later this month. The store will feature a wall covered in folded artificial red suede, a development of an installation Yoshioka created for Italian funiture brand Moroso in New York in 2007, which used folded tissue. The chairs shown here, which also use the tissue technique, are Yoshioka’s Bouquet chair for Moroso.

One of Peter Saville’s recent projects with perhaps less cult appeal than his seminal record covers, but definitely no less verve for anyone with an eye for design, is his consultancy for Danish textile giants Kvadrat. Over the last five years he’s tweaked the graphic identity of the family-run company, gently and always appropriately updating the brand for a new generation of fabric fanatics.
