Mirrored pavilion for Dior’s Spring 2018 collection by Bureau Betak, Paris – France

Bureau Betak’s design for the space required the artisans to hand place over 80,000 mirror shards throughout the interior with the strongest concentration at the far end the space – giving the runway’s portal the feeling of a frozen wonderland.

Graphic explosions made from powder-coated steel are combined with shards wrapped in baby blue glitter and vibrantly contrasting coloured vinyl. Amongst an eye-catching colour palette of rich hues, at the centre of each explosion POP!

Hongkun Art Auditorium by Chris Precht, Bejing – China

Penda was asked by Residential and Cultural Developer Hongkun to design a meeting space that hosts lectures, readings, small exhibitions and an area for trading artworks. Within this cultural district, there was a desire to connect the public to artists as well to create a direct link to art itself. Visitors enter the Art Space through a monolithic facade that connects its appearance to the neighbouring Museum.

Cosy, plush blue leather banquettes and private booths allow for intimate meets to take place with views stretching over Knightsbridge and beyond, while high-backed stools at the bar offer guests a more lively drinking experience.

Reflection Table by Prototype Design Lab

The Reflection Table is a series of conversation tables with the maps of different cosmopolitan cities laser-etched into mirrored stainless steel. When objects are placed on the mirrored-finish table top, their reflections are visible beneath.
