The principal concept was to wield expansive zones of living space in correspondence with the towering 30 ft. ceilings. The conference room is enveloped with high glass panels, thus allowing the box to float subtly into the space while conserving acoustic privacy.

Cahier d’Exercices store by Saucier + Perrotte Architectes, Montreal

Cahier d’Exercices is located at the entrance level of the historic Ross warehouse-store. The stone façade, its cast iron columns, and an expansive brick wall (punctuated with pieces of wood and metal) that runs the length of the store recall the 19th Century building’s industrial past as a retailer of large tissues, leathers and furs.

Beyond, the majestic volume of sparkling surfaces, including a full height imposing wine cellar, is tempered by masculine touches of leather and walnut, all within a convivial and bustling urban dining scene.
