Multimedia exhibition by Fondazione Prada, Milan – Italy

The multimedia exhibition, part of Fondazione Prada’s research programme, includes historical records from Rai, paintings, sculptures and installations, and unfolds over three parts: the artistic uses of television as a medium, the political messages and activist groups onscreen and the dynamics between the sexual liberation and exploitation of the female body.

We had divided the spaces into three areas: Interaction, Dining and Supporting. Interactive areas is an independent glass box with courtyard and outdoor theatre. Dining area is a open plan with bar table island in the middle, also with different levels of book shelves.

A large grid-like structure is used to display the drawings, as well as stands below showing books letters and notes. The contemporary nature of the installation, compliments the original pieces which date back to the fourteenth century.

Going from one chamber to another, one gets deeper into the artist’s fragmented imagery comprised of models’ faces, glossy magazines and bold strokes of paint. Passing vertical mirror prisms, the visitor stumbles upon video chambers, finally escaping via a narrow mirrored aisle, which leads to the final space. In total, five different settings which completely in tune with the artworks.
