Unprinted Material exhibition by Nendo, Tokyo – Japan

The exhibition, in three white rooms, reified the ream with a series of simple outlines of paper sheets. In the first room, the outlines were A1 size, in the second, postcard-size and in the third, the outlines hint at objects seemingly crafted from folded paper.

The app uses location-based services to notify users of the latest offerings and discounts as they approach an area of interest; these features are estimated to increase purchases by up to 45 per cent.

Furniture was arranged in a complete symmetrical manner in each space, so that as soon as one enters the room they are standing right at the boundary of the spaces. A visual effect was created as though the spaces were reflecting each other like a mirror, along with the pillars that were rhythmically arranged.

A side table with just one leg that is twisted. By placing the leg of another table into the twisted section of the first, the two tables appear to be entwined together, as if holding hands.
