Kapor Center for Social Impact by Fougeron Architecture, Oakland – California

This circular volume carries an open stair upward through the building’s original three floors to a fourth-floor addition and organizes the spaces within, linking floors and connecting a range of workspaces. Throughout the building, the circular volume acts as an organizing and integrating principle.

Silicon Valley Staffing Group Offices by Kava Massih Architects, Oakland – California

To open up the interior, we removed the dropped ceiling to expose the existing roof joists, and added skylights to bring in natural light. Curved and angled walls below the joists create a sense of movement and expansion when walking along the hallway.

Aptly named “Scarlet” after the majestic oak tree, this room has movable glass doors and warm toned curtains creating layers which open and recede to transform the reception area into a gathering space for social events.
