Main expression of ‘New life’ became Green which appears on different surfaces and in various interpretations everywhere. These are vertical green columns near reception desk, Green cube right in the middle of the office floor, Green wall-fence by entrance, shrubs spring through the metal terrace, Green hills with trees growing through the concrete floor surface and Green glades on the roof.

At the end of 2012, printing office Drukta and mailing company Formail moved into their new building. Not a new build, but a former textile company’s warehouse, spanning 4.000 sqm. For their office space, both companies were looking for a solution which needed to fit their needs and budget.

Although the office would specifically house architects, the architects designed a multipurpose working space that simply and clearly honors the rudiments of work: vast work surfaces, massive natural light, fresh air, generous storage, and clearly individuated workstations that add up to a coherent, palpable group.

Graffiti from local artists decorate the walls and floors, razor scooters zip around every corner, kitchens feature popcorn and slushy machines, and bright colors cover every hallway (even scratch-and-sniff wallpaper is used in our space). And since work should always be fun, there are ping pong tables and a replica Cleveland Cavaliers basketball court.

For the interiors, we developed a project where we applied steel and wooden elements. By using steel, we were able to be consistent with the products sold by the company. We were also able to communicate strength with a modern feel.

Dynamic interior with active red forms flowing throughout the space was recently completed by Moscow-based design bureau Nefa Research. White and red – only two colours have formed the space, though architects managed to make a truly creative contemporary interior.

EMO and The Real Adventure offices by The Interiors Group, Bristol

Separate space was a major part of the brief and was required for both EMO and The Real Adventure. Both agencies required meeting rooms and spaces which neededto be created for directors, HR Teams, IT Teams, Meeting Rooms and Studio space. Shared space such as meeting and board rooms, telephone booths, reception space was another key requirement.

The office below uses furniture purchased locally from secondhand shops, online, and items left from their previous space. Once sprayed and placed into the office, everything is placed into position against a white background giving the space a very interesting contrasting look.

The office’s open plan work area make up the majority of the pie wedge shaped floor plan, which were intentionally left unobstructed to create a very spacious work setting. Even the suspended ceiling was removed to give the space a much more impressive feeling than more traditional work spaces.

Modular desks sit in the center of an open office surrounded by a lounge, glass-enclosed conference rooms and a large open kitchen. Walls are painted in bright colors or coated with white-board paint. The carpet, an index of activities programmed above, is a composition of carpet tiles developed in our office using parametric software.

Rather than purchasing furniture, the company designed several of their own pieces – and then released the designs as open source. The furniture options created include desks, lights, bookshelves, laptop stands, pencil cups, and a bench.

The designers worked to create a lively and modern environment. In doing so, elements like artificial grass, stylised clouds, fuzzy pink carpet and eye-catching graphics were added to client meeting rooms. One casual seating area is even set up like a beach lounge.

The multi-use nature of the space gives the company access to everything they might need instantly – photo studio, office, warehouse, and showroom. And with the showroom comes people, and to make those people comfortable, the company believes it has created the best customer restroom in all of Sweden.
