Joto is a range of artisanal Japanese sakes developed for the North American market. To Western consumers, traditional Japanese sake labelling is indecipherable and largely indistinguishable. Joto’s packaging opts for bold colour and infographics describing each sake’s brewing process and tasting notes.

The package is simply called T and takes us to a full contrast opening experience. If the box is extremely simple at the base, it opens with an explosion of color where each little teabag is a fine piece of paper folding art.

The product name “Madhukara” is from a Sanskrit word, where Madhu means honey or sweet. It suggests mystery and an exotic feel. To further expand the idea of premium, I chose a glass bottle of a rounded base and narrow opening, in the look of a potion bottle, like a magic syrup. The play of wood, etching, die cut gives the sense of delicacy and rawness to it.

`Lastu wooden cover for iPhone packaging

`Lastu is a wooden cover which attaches to the surface of the iPhone 4/4s. The product is made from real wood and is incredibly thin (0,54mm). ‘Lastu’s user experience is a natural because the iphone menu button is also made of wood. The surface is finished using a traditional Finnish car- penter methods.
