Muji pop-up store by Kengo Kuma, Vancouver – Canada

The store installation is made of Canadian white oak, a material that’s also used for the brand’s solid wood tables. Before entering the pop-up store shoppers are encounter a product showcase that’s entilted what is Muji?, and which displays some of the retailer’s iconic products that collectively shed light on its retail philosophy.

The hub area acts as the heart of the exhibition and holds the newest and most advanced products, demonstrating how they connect and control each other. The modular structure here stands at 4.5m high and creates a blue saturated area both in colour and light.

Myer department store by Peddle Thorp Architects, Melbourne

Through a collaborative design process involving Myer Design, and shop-fitters, our challenge was to create a unique retail experience for each environment, developing specific design theme on each floors. The organic contemporary level 6 and 7 have been design as interactive futuristic spaces. The designer introduces the notion of path and discovery into the planning strategy to enhance the consumer experience.
