The pillars symbolize the towering trees, the long public seats are wrapped around the tree, and becoming the dining table, people around the “tree” can enjoy cool meal, and from the pillar part it reduces the height of the bench.

Locally made steel bar stools and wall panels are coated in layers and layers of bright automotive paint. Classic modern pendants hung in clusters resemble stage lighting and are used to separate the dining room from the bar.

The geometry of the furniture is inspired by the triangulations of the project and adapts to the design requirements of each piece, conceived to have multiple combinations depending on the changing configuration of the restaurant. The construction of the different furniture pieces is made with the same technique: a common design on the union between pieces.

White painted brick and stark black trim with gold lettering on windows brought a previously ill-painted storefront back to an appropriate aesthetic. Interiors with brass globe light fixtures, mixed wood tones, and original exposed brick complete the spaces’ nod to 1950’s Athens.

Located on Calle Doctor Castelo 21 is the second restaurant that the studio designs for the well-known chain of Marisqueria Norte Sur. The initial approach of the reform was to design a small and sophisticated space with two spaces, bar area and restaurant, to transport the customer inside a unique cabin.

We designed the restaurant to be as warm, welcoming and happy (and even appetizing) at night as it is during the day, and created the joinery and furnishings to look better with some wear and tear after heavy use. Natural stone, ceramic, brass, timber, concrete and blackened steel feature heavily in a bold but limited palette and we designed in a lot of room to accommodate generous amounts of vegetation in aged terra cotta.

Unlike the old building, which was built against the wall of a historic post office building, the new fast-food restaurant stands in the centre of the pavement to make it look more like a pavilion. The majority of its exterior is glazed, providing views through the building.

The copper colour contrasts the shades of green and the wood, both helping to communicate the natural approach of the restaurant. The wooden counter and buffet have been optimized for the service, appearing as homelike elements at the same time.

Dalston Roof Park, London – UK

The concept, devised by lighting designers Michael Grubb Studio, was “Sunset, all night long”. This was achieved through the use of white light and a limited range of yellow, amber and red filters, which allowed the design to mimic sunset, creating an environment where visitors could experience the subtlety of colour.

The space is treated uniformly with various different focal points, starting with the eight meter long marble bar with a mirror in the background and a light mint ceramic frame and continuing with the delicate exotic wall painting, that balances the fine constructed lines with the strong and abundent theme of the luxurious jungle.

Pizza Fresh Co by Vie Studio, Sydney – Australia

Influenced by the 90s hip hop culture, hints of bright green colour tones have been used on the banquet seating and neon signage. Vibrant fluorescent lighting have been installed to give the overall atmosphere a sense of pop and youth.
