For this project, Kube was inspired by the only information they had: a humpback whale’s skeleton is hang in Aquarium’s entrance hall and its best view is from inside the store. That being said, the store’s main displays were inspired by the organic curves of the whale’s ribs, giving the space a flowing and light movement, and also allowing a flexibility in the mix of products.

The visual effect of movement is enhanced by lightning system programmed to react on different events as concerts, games and other brand activations. The main installation as well organize and introduce the public into the interactive installations as photo in 360 degrees, real-time dance game, a gallery, concert stage… and entrance to the store.
The floor on the social areas was drawn by the architects and crafted with a very antique technique of pressing cement tiles. Led by Marcos, Vital Oficina crafted the 1500 piece tensionated mylar net that protects the windows and blue portuguese tiles on the facades. They’re also responsible for the led lit lounge ceiling and a world map made of 6000 metal bolts.
We converted this old house´s narrow access, with a low ceiling height, into a gallery inspired by a kaleidoscope, where a set of mirrors reflects the walls and ceiling. In the end of this path there is a more literal version of a kaleidoscope, where a highlighted production may be seen through a small hole on the wall.
