Cofta hair salon by iks design, Nagoya – Japan

We produced furniture and finished interior by using wood materials normally used for substrate of furniture and interior finish for reducing the cost. Paint finish with rough texture is applied, so that it “weathers nicely as a taste” along with the time, rather than just becoming “old” after the completion.

The dramatic light sculpture encases an architecturally enhanced ‘totem’ column that is adorned with textured and mirror-finished bronze panels and encased in vertical framing to draw the eye upward and introduce a sense of poetic motion.

On the interior wall, overlapping wooden boards of rough texture are placed, creating an ambience of an alley. The wall penetrates the ground floor and the B1 floor, giving a unified sense in the design.

Nike Air Force 1 Store by Torafu, Tokyo
