Lotus Fresh flagship store by HEAD Architecture, Shanghai

Lotus is a well established brand in China with 70 supermarkets across the country. In an effort to appeal to discerning shoppers in the Pudong area and to compete with the many new luxury food brands moving in to the Shanghai, Lotus commissioned HEAD to develop a new flagship store transitioning from 100% local brands, toward a larger component of foreign products and services.

This project was born in 2006 when a Singaporean movie director and an ex musician from south of China decided to open a live bar in Shanghai. The budget was very low but the client was incredibly good and open-minded to us.

Kid’s Republic by SKSK Architects, Shanghai

China is always on top of the the most modern and innovative design. Just take a look at this incredible book store in Shanghai! After opening in Jianwai SOHO community, Beijing in October, 2005, Kid’s Republic became the first specialized picture book store in China. This bookstore has the most luxurious setting that can easily transport their pint-sized customers into a world of color, fantasy and imagination.

ALTER concept store by 3Gatti Architecture Studio, Shanghai

The ALTER concept store, designed by Francesco Gatti, is the result of a daring venture by its owner, Sonja Long, to open a shop with the creations of European fashion designers (still unknown in the Far East) in the trendiest, most design-oriented part of Shanghai.

Apple Store by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Architects, Shanghai

Here is a design of an Apple store with high-tech glass and steel building with an interior that is very minimal and only as to put an icon on their logo design. Designed by architect Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, who has experience and has worked with Apple stores in New York and in London. The entrance to this store a cube and a glass cylinder, which leads to the local underground beneath a square central business district of Lujiazui in Pudong.

Nomination by Studio 63, Venice

Hugo Boss Orange concept store, Shanghai

Instore graphics for the Hugo Boss Orange Concept Store Shanghai. Themed under “Good old Germany…”, an over 19.68 feet high fantasy tree was illustrated and screen printed. Wooden carvings and golden motives decorate the changing rooms. A traditional rubber stamp set consisting of 10 German sing and forest birds in life-size has also been produced to cover walls and furniture by hand.
