Hotel Precieux by JEN-DESIGN, Shanghai

Hotel Precieux is on the east side of Shanghai named Putong district and it offers 25 rooms on 1,000 sqm. The design concept of this hotel becomes a jewel and the color. The designer divided a birthstone into eight colors and designed each room under the theme of eight colors and jewels.

‘Keep it Glassy’ exhibition by COORDINATON ASIA, Shanghai

COORDINATION ASIA chose to leave parts of the raw space untouched and highlighted original details on walls and floors. In contrast, a maze of mirrored pools was created to lead the way through the exhibition space and to showcase the shimmering design objects that seemingly flow on a thin layer of water.

Yakiniku Master restaurant by Golucci International Design, Shanghai

The recycled wood pieces are reshaped and used to decorate the red bricks, presenting a mottled color wall, coupled with charcoal that has been used in previous stores, demonstrating the image and characteristics of yakiniku (Japanese BBQ). Therefore, the design integrates simplicity and complexity, traditional and contemporary methods to showcase a rich and colorful landscape.

The concrete columns and roof-beams of the original structure were kept visible – bearing all traces of their past – and combined with warmer materials, including the wood on the floor and the black denim covering the outer skin of the mezzanine – an implicit reference to the brand’s identity.

The Waterhouse Hotel at South Bund by Neri&Hu, Shanghai

Continuing Ralph Lauren’s traditional store aesthetic, the new store features an ornate wrought iron staircase which fully utilizes the store’s generous ceiling heights.
