Woolrich store by Andrea Cané & Wonderwall, Milan – Italy

The chosen aesthetic of the Woolrich shop is predominantly defined by light colours and simple materials, such as wood, glass and metal. Furnishings comprise of wooden and steel shelves, while the building’s concrete pillars are encased in transparent glass.

Beyond the gallery, steel shelves float in overlaying rows in the iconic showroom zone. Each set of dolls hover in its own small world, like in emaki-mono (picture scrolls) where each scene is depicted between the golden clouds.

The blackened steel shelves of the cabinets and bookcases rest on a bronze framework that uses slender supporting poles. The cylindrical rods are fluted to represent the Ionic columns, and are capped with flat sections on either end so they can be fixed to the horizontal sections of the frame.

TRD Heinemann store by TYIN Tegnestue at Trondheim Airport, Stjordal – Norway

The project is carried by miniature pier houses, a common trait of Trondheims traditional building mass. The miniatures are silhouette replicas of actual buildings. The steel shelves are burrowed deep into the timber logs, with each module containing a complex network of electric wiring, supplying the shelves with LED-lights.

Greenwich Kitchen restaurant by B3 Designers, Greenwich – UK

B3 Designers have worked with key features to create this New York style coffee shop – they include mixed patterned terrazzo tiles on the floor; washed wooden paneling on the walls complimented by framed, inlayed caramel tiles and steel-mesh shelves filled with wine bottles, surrounding the restaurant.

Accommodated in a z-shaped area, wall-mounted mirrors create the optical illusion of bigger space. Grey cement is also used for the flooring, while black steel shelves match with lighter hued wood display tabletops and counters.

Adidas Y-3 Flagship Store, Milan

Located on Via De Cristoforis, the two-floor store in the heart of Milan is 200 square meters big, with a more minimal and chic look than the dark and edgy Y-3 stores seen in other locales. The space features warehouse-style inspiratoin, with a white resin floor, steel shelves and stands, and furniture made from bolted iron. A dramatic spiral staircase can be found in the center of the showroom.
