NEW TENDENCY is a multi-faceted design studio based in Berlin. Founded in 2009, it designs, sells and collaborates within the realms of furniture, fashion and graphic design, yet adventurously ventures beyond these as well.

This brand needed to be distinctive, flexible and dimensional. The first step in RCG’s process was developing a name, brand signature, graphic and fitout system. Then a test site was chosen and the new brand and delivery system was implemented.

Exposure of products on a white, semi-matt background and good light (metal halide and halide sources) allows easy recognition of the products` color nuances. In contrast, we have added: footstools – soft (padded), in a variety of pastel colors, counter with soft front, extremely deep carpet. We`ve borrowed colors from the brand logo (the logo is not part of our project).

The clear and iconic design encompasses various layers of information. At the top we have the striking lighting layer, attracting shoppers from a distance. Below this there is the information layer, furnished with chalkboards and two digital screens, and under these the two layers with products.

The store was designed and planned to provide the best customer experience possible, so that the whole Nokia ecosystem of devices, services and accessories could be showcased. Zones were set up to demonstrate the imaging capabilities of the latest Nokia Lumia smartphones along with navigation, music, Xbox gaming on Nokia devices using the new Microsoft Windows 8 platform.

The mobility of the archive has also influenced the other objects grouped together in the center of the room. Various furniture pieces in perforated metal and painted in pale pastels give a light and soft appearance, and have handles and wheels so they can be easily moved around the room as needed.

The new concept store has revamped Aéropostale’s brand image creating an emotional connection with the target teenage customer. The dual notions of community and in-store technology have redefined the shopping experience through old-style community board postings and new school iPads allowing shoppers to select personal playlists while they shop in the store.

The approach of the facade resulted from a reflection of the special showcase which the original shop features, namely a round arched windows that quarter circle. Furthermore, the focus in building characterized by its long, narrow floor plan and high ceilings.

Using basic box shapes & urban materials as a starting point, the ‘all originals’ window was all about the brand identity, referencing the trefoil logo shape & the adidas original blue, whereas the ‘represent’ window showcases the range of adidas originals product in a playful creative way.

The clothing store follows the Hi and Low style, in a mix of opposites with recognized, young, conceptual and basic brands. The concept extends for the interior architecture, in a contrast of colors, materials and sensations. The front view, in latticework 40x40cm, there is a metallic pinky red beam.

Miu Miu store by Roberto Baciocchi, Venice

Miu Miu has opened a new flagship store in Venice. The store is located in Venice’s Salizada San Moise and sells ready to wear as well as shoes and handbags. Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the store features an entrance and large glass display window with bronzed steel fixtures that face onto the “calle”.
