Kusa tea set by Kengo Kuma for Georg Jensen

Kuma used bamboo – a traditional material in Asia – to create the stirrer, and hammered silver for the circular tray. A criss-cross latticework of silver covers the oxidised vessels.

The design uses a language of minimal shapes, so that teapot, cups, saucers and bowls can live together in harmony. The mono-materiality of the items in the collection takes its origins from the rounded, soft shape and integrated elements of the teapot, where body and handle are merged together to create a distinctive object with its own discrete aesthetic.
