Influenced by the 90s hip hop culture, hints of bright green colour tones have been used on the banquet seating and neon signage. Vibrant fluorescent lighting have been installed to give the overall atmosphere a sense of pop and youth.

Hangop café by Overtreders W, Den Bosch – Netherlands

With a low budget, Overtreders W upcycled the furniture seen within the eatery. The second hand tables and chairs, the walls, floor, bar and stage were all painted in a vibrant orange by volunteers from the local arts center. An upper platform provides an alternative and more casual seating option.

The new vision reflects the creation of specific environments for the unique mix of tenants that currently inhabit the marketplace. While the spaces are designed to reflect a fresh modern aesthetic, they also incorporate a timeless approach to design which strongly relates to the original architecture of the building as well as the changing marketplace.

VLISCO UN à UN exhibition by Studio Harm Rensink, Helmond – Netherlands

The psychedelic exhibition space was designed by Studio Harm Rensink, who ‘skinned’ the walls and floor of each room with the designs of former Vlisco designer Michiel Schuurmans, enhancing the feeling of ‘stepping into’ Vlisco.
