The client had a strong passion for creating new and quality shaved ice, and wished to apply that mind also in interior design, using emotional red color and comfortable wood material. As a main component of the shop design, how to use this vivid color was the key.

Tavernetta is an italian cuisine restaurant in Odessa, Ukraine. Wooden furnishing made of siberian pine and waxed. Interior looks very traditional and low-tech, it’s warm and athmospheric. The furniture and wooden parts have the characteristic rough pattern.

Supermarket Concept Store by reMiks, Belgrade

Serbian design studio reMiks has completed Supermarket, a concept store inspired by the “golden years of communism”. Hosting a bar, restaurant, salon and fashion boutique, the store is located in a former discount supermarket in Belgrade. Found objects including a fridge, hospital screens and a camper van are used as display devices.

The shade is made of custom made, 1st grade veneers, custom made for our lamps. The veneer has been through a flexing process to became bendable, then coated with a clear solvent free coating. The veneer is carefully laser cut by skilled craftsmen at our workshop partner in Sweden.

The key design is the white stick-partitions that vaguely divide the whole space. As the location and environment of the store is not said perfect because of the low ceiling and deep shape. The stick-partitions help to show customers the whole of interior even from the entrance.
